Shepparton’s rich and diverse Aboriginal history can be experienced at the Bangerang Cultural Centre, or through ‘The Flats’ walk, where you can learn some of the history of the Yorta Yorta people.
To further engage the mind, Shepparton and its surrounding small towns offer museums that will enlighten and educate, highlighting the history of farming, irrigation and medical procedures of the past. Tatura Museum is home to priceless artefacts showing what life was really like in the internment camps that housed German and Italian internees throughout the area during World War II.
The region’s temperate climate means families can get outdoors and enjoy the many family friendly activities the area has to offer.
